Hi! I'm Liz, owner, and face behind Little White Interiors, welcome to my first blog!

As we approach turning 1 year old as a business, I wanted to share a bit of my background, and to what led me to launch Little White Interiors.

Lockdown brought out the good and worst in all of us.  With it also came change and a new way of doing things.  For me, this was an opportunity to take stock and really think about my life, consider my interests and passions, and really think about what I hoped to achieve.

Like many parents I found life in lockdown particularly stressful, and I was one of the lucky ones able to continue working from home, albeit whilst attempting to home school and care for my two young daughters simultaneously which was an interesting experience I hope not to repeat.

As life slowly returned to a new kind of normal, I thought about the things that bought me joy during those darker days.  Getting outside whatever the weather, lighting my favourite candles, dressing up our dining table even if it was just for the four of us and making small changes to our home that made being at home (for all those hours) more enjoyable.

Our family got two beautiful Labrador puppies so that walking several times a day was a routine that wouldn't fall away, and I started thinking about how I might be able to utilise my 15+ years’ experience of being an Executive Assistant for something I felt passionate about.  I had always had my own home interiors account on Instagram, and often enjoyed admiring your lovely homes too.

In the beginning I doubted myself a lot as I had no experience of running a business, creating a website, advertising, purchasing stock and managing my own accounts etc but then I read a quote which really resonated with me 'Great Things Never Came From Comfort Zones'.  I knew I had a lot of transferable skills and spent my evenings researching and watching tutorials on how to build a website, I thought of a company name (which comes from our own white rendered house), designed a logo, wrote a business plan and applied for a government backed small business start-up loan, and the rest as they say is history.

It has been a very scary prospect to jump so far out of my comfort zone, and I do doubt myself on a daily basis as I am still learning the ropes on how to be a new small business owner, particularly now as I have taken the leap to working for Little White Interiors full time.  I can however say, that without a doubt, my greatest achievement (professionally) has been setting up this little dream of mine largely by myself and building my own website which I am so proud of.

Little White Interiors is a small family run business by me and my husband Ryan, who is a carpenter by trade.  Our vision is inspired by living in the changing landscape of the beautiful Leicestershire countryside and we are passionate about bringing rustic country style living into our homes by offering a carefully selected collection of home accessories and handmade oak interiors.  I am so excited to share this dream of mine with you, and to have you join me on the journey as we are just getting started!

From the bottom of my heart, thank you for supporting my small business.
